Jody Wright, based in West Virginia, is a contemporary artist known for painting the colorful personalities and inquisitive nature of dogs, cats and wildlife (though other subjects do occasionally sneak in as well). Working in acrylic, she isn’t painting “portraits” but rather - glimpses of the connection we all have to one another; excitement, curiosity, hope, and in-the-moment living.

Whether it is a pup on its exciting adventure into grass, a surprised dog with a butterfly that has lit upon its nose or a cat imagining the “infinite possibilities” of a fish in a bowl, her brushes explore life deeper. Over many years of blissful practice (since 2004), she celebrates her 70 years on the planet with painting vibrant depictions of life “as if Mother Nature had suddenly dared to make fur purple to reflect the utter joy of the being inside”. Through her original paintings, Jody invites all ages to be "born anew" into a world of utter fresh beginnings and joy about what it is to be fully alive.

When you purchase an original painting on canvas from Jody Wright, it isn't a "copy" of AI.  It's created for all the years it took to understand how paint on canvas could move from one's own mind and be translated from there to a brush. She no longer sells her work through galleries to keep costs affordable to those who love her work.

Her limited edition archival prints are done from her own studio and she uses archival ink, archival paper and the best printer to bring her original paintings on canvas to paper.  A total of only 50 prints will be produced of each painting. With proper care (keeping out of bright sunlight and properly framed) these prints will last a lifetime.
By doing all the prints in-house, she can go with her perfectionistic tendencies to give her customers the best quality possible because she inspects each one.
